She Sells...

So I kindof have this huge shell collection, since I have this thing for beachcombing. Lately, I had been wondering what to do with these bags and bags of shells sitting around my room. The other day, I finally got my answer - display them! In shadowboxes!

The frames were all black before I started. All I did was buy a few shadowboxes, spraypaint them white, then take my shells, hot glue them to a backing of rice paper and cardboard I had lying around, and make a little label for them. It was a fun project, and it only took me about an hour to do all three of these.

I have so many more to do, though! I have all these bones and other shells and random things I've found in the sand...It's going to take me forever to get it all finished! Anyone have any other ideas for shell collections?

  1. you could put the shells is cool little jars. or when my grandmother used to go to florida every year she would put all her shells in a clear lamp....or hot glue them to the outside of boxes...

  2. Another way to display shells and beach items if you have the room is to make a coffee table that has a glass top and has a drawer built in that can be pulled out to put in the items and then closed for the display...I have seen one of these and they are very cool. And since the drawer opens you can change out the display
