Iced Tea

Well kids, I have a new obsession, and it is called iced tea. It's like juice with no calories! It doesn't make you feel all hot and sweaty like hot drinks do! It is amazingly refreshing and delicious! So I thought I'd take a page out o' Kelsey's book and show y'all how I make it.
All you need is 6 bags of tea, a measuring cup, a mason jar, and a pitcher for your finished tea.
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, and pour the hot water over the six tea bags after you've placed them in a mason jar.
Let the tea steep for 4-8 minutes. I usually go for about 6, maybe 8 if I want it really strong.
Remove the tea bags. You now have tea concentrate! Mmmmm boy, doesn't that smell amazing? Now all you have to do is let it cool to room temperature, but don't put it in the freezer, because I hear that makes it taste bitter. Who knew, right?
Pour the concentrate into your pitcher once it's gotten to room temperature, add about 4 cups of cool water, and stick it all in the fridge for a while.
Once it's nice and cold, pour and enjoy. Perhaps with the book you're reading right now. Mmm, so delicious. I'm a bit ashamed to say I go through about a whole pitcher every day of this stuff. Wow, man.

  1. Have You not been to the southern states? Girl I had iced tea in my bottle when I was a baby! Try using green tea and put fresh berries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries or Lemon with a sprig of mint. Let that steep and YUMMY!
